Nelly Furtado nominated for British music award

Canadian singer Nelly Furtado has been nominated for best international female artist in Britain's Music of Black Origin Awards.
She will compete with U.S. artists Mary J. Blige and Beyonce Knowles, who has a leading four nominations.
Furtado had a number one hit on U.K. music charts in June with her single Maneater.
The best international female artist award is a new category added this year to the awards, which honour primarily U.K. singers and performers.
The MOBO awards include performers of music of black origin, as well as black performers.
R&B star Knowles has also been nominated for best song, best video and best R&B act.
